Firebugs and Lightningflies

Well, I am out of chronological order, but on June 15th, I went to the nearby Firefly Festival.

Fortunately for me, two of my friends (one of which was my later girlfriend then even more later ex girlfriend), had already taken me to the town to dark areas to look at the fireflies. So I was not too disappointed to see none at the festival.

We had wanted to get on the boat as long as we had known the festival existed, but you could (for some stupid reason) only buy tickets on the day of, and the line immediately filled up before we or anyone even got there. So we weren't able to get tickets.

The festival itself was not so great. Some stage with some boring acts, some traditional festival stands, etc. I did manage to scoop some golfish, but I gave them back because I really don't need a goldfish or three... The highlight of the event was dropping my phone somewhere, so I wouldn't describe it as a great event. I did manage to run into my girlfriend at the time, but she was with other people, so we didn't get to spend much time together.

There was a firefly museum, which we went to. It was cooler than I expected, but still not that fantastic. The giant animatronics were the best part.

When it got dark, we saw maybe three fireflies. We tried driving out farther to see more, but then saw maybe five in the distance. I think I still managed to catch one at least.

That's about it. So, here are some pictures, enjoy. Oh, also we went golfing in a mall and won a beer.
